Abdullahi Boru Halakhe is a seasoned security and policy analyst on the Horn of Africa and Great Lakes regions. His experience and expertise sit at the intersection of International security policy, human rights and strategic communications. He has worked with the UN, International Crisis Group and Amnesty International on Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) counter-terrorism and human rights emanating from counter-terrorism operations. Abdullahi has written a wealth of articles and op-eds on (in) security in the Horn of Africa post the Cold War and his work has been featured on Al Jazeera English, Al Jazeera America, Mail and Guardian Africa, and various other mediums. He has been frequently interviewed, as an expert on the intersection of human rights and (in) security, and peace and security by international and African media outlets. He has also appeared on CNN, BBC World Service, Al Jazeera, and multiple other international and regional stations. Abdullahi holds a Master's Degree in International Security Policy from Columbia University.
