Tarnjeet K. Kang, Ph.D. StudentResearch Fellow
Tarnjeet Kang is a Ph.D. student in the Education Policy, Organization and Leadership Department at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She is pursuing a concentration in Global Studies in Education, as well as a minor in African Studies. She is currently writing her dissertation, after completing her fieldwork in South Sudan in 2014 and 2015. Tarnjeet’s dissertation focuses on community self-determination within South Sudan’s education system. This project aimed to better understand and record a history of self-determination that has remained largely unaddressed by scholars and practitioners alike. Prior to becoming a Fellow at the Zambakari Advisory, Tarnjeet worked in research and educational programming in Hong Kong, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Kenya, South Sudan and the United States. |
