The Organization:
The Zambakari Advisory, L.L.C. is a newly incorporated firm which leverages experts worldwide to provide consulting and advisory services to individuals, businesses, and organizations in Africa and in the Middle East. Together we provide strategic analysis and intelligence, technical capacity support with transitional processes, forecasting, and political and economic analysis that minimizes exposure to volatile events. We deliver customized services and creative approaches to successfully conducting business, and supporting state/nation-building processes in Africa and in the Middle East.

The Internship Program:
The Zambakari Advisory internship program is designed to give individuals an opportunity to gain firsthand experience in the fields of international affairs, security, and development with a focus on Africa and the Middle East. This is a unique opportunity to get practical experience working with a young and dynamic consulting firm. Internships are online based and course credit can be arranged if acceptable to your academic institution. One Summer 2016 internship is available for a qualified candidate.

Intern Responsibilities:
We are seeking candidates with excellent English communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate in a team atmosphere, and contribute original solutions to complex problems. Given our regional focus an interest in political, social, and economic affairs in Africa and the Middle East is important. The business development intern will support the CEO of the Zambakari Advisory to:
  • Monitor news and developments around the world and produce industry and country specific analyses for the firm
  • Conduct basic market research and perform competitive analyses
  • Assist in identifying potential business opportunities and prospective clients
  • Translate academic and technical knowledge for mainstream consumption
  • Support the marketing of the firm’s services

We are looking for candidates that can bring their creative skills and marketing knowledge to the firm to support the packaging and promotion of our services. Candidate must be highly motivated and be able to work independently and in an unstructured/start up environment with little supervision. The candidate must have excellent English communication skills, strong initiative, attention to detail, social media proficiency, and an interest in political, social, and economic affairs in Africa and the Middle East. The marketing intern will coordinate with the CEO of the Zambakari Advisory to:
  • Draft, distribute, and pitch news releases, media alerts, and other stories
  • Support the with content development, marketing of services and tracking online impact
  • Assist with design of marketing materials, presentations and maximize content delivery to target audiences
  • Support the marketing of the firm’s services and assist the web development team in
  • Develop social media strategy, monitoring key social media channels, engage with prospective clients
